Privacy and processing boundaries

Know where your sample is handled.

JSON Mask has public explanation pages and a separate local processing workspace. They are one product with different browser origins. Anyone can open the empty workspace without an account; your chosen input stays local to your tab.

In the processing workspace

You choose which JSON to paste or open. Analysis, path selection, replacement, preview, copy and download run in that browser tab. The application has no upload, redaction API, remote sharing or messaging endpoint.

Your source, selected paths and results are not written to URLs, cookies, local storage, session storage, IndexedDB or an application document database. The language query accepts only en or zh. There are no advertising, analytics or third-party scripts on the processing origin.

There is no document-recovery service. Clearing the workspace or closing its tab removes the application's in-memory state. Browser history, downloads, clipboard contents, extensions and other device software are handled outside that memory; keep and remove files according to your requirements.

On these public pages

These pages contain instructions and fictional examples. They have no file input and do not receive the source or result from the processing tab. Links open the workspace in a new tab without carrying business data or selected paths.

Serving public and processing pages, styles and scripts requires ordinary hosting requests. The hosting provider can receive IP addresses, request headers, requested URLs and connection information. No customer JSON is added to those requests by the application.

Advertising is currently disabled

Public pages contain an AdSense account verification declaration and a public ads.txt seller record. These do not load an advertising SDK, prove approval, or establish advertising income. This release does not enable advertising or analytics scripts.

Any future advertising would be limited to reviewed public content with the required privacy and consent arrangements. The processing workspace must remain isolated from it; this notice will be updated before any change is enabled.

Review what remains

This is explicit field replacement, not automatic PII detection or guaranteed anonymization. Remaining values, property names, paths and relationships can still identify people or systems. You decide whether the whole output is appropriate to share.

Questions about the product can be sent to contact@usefuldock.com. Do not send production secrets, private JSON or credentials in a support message; use a fictional example that demonstrates the issue.

Use the same product, with a local workspace.

The processing tab does not send your sample back to this explanation page.
